On a sunlit morning off the coast of Florida, I put on my scuba gear, heart pounding with anticipation. The ocean sparkled, concealing its secrets below. With a final check on air supply and gauges and a nod to my buddy, I made a long stride off the boat, slipping into a world of blue.
Descending into a world where we can defy gravity and fly, I kept my fins up and head down, eyes scanning the shifting sand and coral outcrops. Each breath was a measured beat in the symphony of my dive, each second underwater—my precious bottom time—stretched and savored.
